You most likely will not be bashful to show your piercing to your lover in a private setting, but what about actually taking off your shirt and just letting someone pierce your nipple? A bit shy? Don’t worry, you are not alone. Almost everyone who does this is going to be bashful. Keep in mind that the process of the piercing has absolutely nothing to do with sex. It is akin to going to see a doctor in the way that the person who does the piercing has seen more breasts than you could count. It is their work. Any reputable piercing salon will not have employees who look at you in a sexual way or make sexual comments. If so, and you are not comfortable, report them to the owner and leave! Also, you do not need to strip down; you can cover up just about everything except the nipple itself.
You may wonder just how much this is going to hurt. Again, you are not alone in wondering about this. For most people, it is not as shocking as one may think. The process of actually piercing the nipple is very fast and your adrenaline kicks in; thus killing a lot of the pain. Do keep in mind, it does hurt. You will feel it. However, it is not a torture type pain that will last an agonizingly long time.
It will be pretty sore for a while until it heals. Keep in mind that this is a difficult part of the body to have a piercing heal, because of the location. You can put ice on the nipple, it does help. Placing the nipple in a cup of salt water may also ease the pain. Obviously, it is best if you are very careful when putting on your bra and clothes, the way you turn when you sleep or any other movement that will cause un-needed pain. After about two months, the piercing should be healed and you will forget how uncomfortable it was. For some, it will take longer, especially if the nipple keeps getting touched by accident. If it just does not seem to be healing at all, it is best to go back to the salon, in case your body is rejecting the metal or there is some type of issue. Most of all, just take a deep breathe and relax!
