The Ideal Jewelry For A Lip Piercing

The writer of the following article has never had a lip piercing, but there was a time when she did need to wear braces. The writer can guess that the first afternoon with a pierced lip would be a lot like the first afternoon with a set of braces. The writer still recalls having soup for lunch, right after she returned from the offices of the doctor who installed her braces. She also remembers that it did not take long for her to adjust to chewing food, while wearing a lot of metal on her teeth. The writer suspects that anyone with a pierced lip can soon manage to eat with relative ease.

A piercing specialist, one who plans to perform a lip piercing, puts a mark on a spot just below the client’s lower lip. Into that mark, the specialist inserts the piercing needle. The location of that mark guarantees placement for different styles of piercing jewelry, jewelry designed to fit in that same pierced area. Such piercing jewelry might go in the center of the lip, or on the right or left side.

Some piercing specialists find that their clients choose to wear a barbell in their pierced lip. Other piercing specialists have found a lip ring or a labret stud in the lip of a former client. Any of those accessories fit well into the region below the lower lip.

Specific types of jewelry attachments coordinate with particular types of piercing jewelry. Labret spires have been designed to match with either lip rings or labret studs. Like a screw, each labret spire contains a number of threads.

Facial cones can go on any type of piercing jewelry found on the face. Such cones fit extremely well on a piece of jewelry in a lip piercing. Not every facial cone looks like every other cone. Each cone has a colored circle at its base.

Carousel Cones are a popular brand of facial cone. Carousel Cones come in five different colors. A female might like a cone with a pink band; a male might prefer a cone with a red or black band. The Carousel Company also makes cones with a blue or green band.

Piercing jewelry allows a pierced area to become accessorized with the appropriate metal piece. Should a pierced lip hold a labret stud, then that lip area can be dressed-up with the combination of a ball and a spike. A 6 mm steel ball has a spike coming from one pole.

Although there are many different types of jewelry that can go in a lip piercing, that benefit can not always sway the public response to any available piercing. That fact does not always increase the likelihood that any potential, piercing client might become the future wearer of a piece of piercing jewelry.

Some people shrink from obtaining a pierced lip, because they fear the possible gum problems. Other people hesitate to sport a piece of piercing jewelry, because they sense that such jewelry does not match with their personality. The decision to get a pierced lip requires the abandonment of certain concerns, concerns that relate to a possible infection in the pierced area.

A piercing specialist might not mention the possibility of such an infection. Often, only a client with a medical history that includes some sort of surgery might have an acute awareness of the chances for appearance of an infection in a pierced lip.
